What topics can I ask about here?
Anything! As long as it is in line with our Acceptable Use Policy of course. Any topic related to the challenges you are facing in your daily work as a privacy professional are welcome, e.g. how to interpret legal requirements or court decisions, how to build a successful privacy program or how to take the next step in your career.
What types of questions should I avoid asking?
If what you are looking for is formal legal advice, Watercooler is not the right place. Maybe you can find your lawyer here, but keep in mind that the discussions are public, and anyone can share their views and opinions here, regardless of background and experience.
What does it mean to ask a question anonymously?
On Watercooler you can ask a question anonymously, with or without first creating an account. This is great if you don’t want to reveal your identity, but it also means you have to follow the discussions manually - since we won’t have your details related to that question, we can’t let you know when someone posts an answer.
If you instead post questions in your name when logged into your account, you will be able to track all your questions from your profile, and you will get a notification sent by email when someone responds to your question.
