Hello! I want to ask how you treat Google analytics. Do you consider Google an independent controller, a joint controller or a processor for the purpose of analysing users behaviour? I am leaning towards joint controllers, given the Fashion ID case, but I want to hear your opinion as well 🙂

      Hi,

In the default settings Google Analytics is a Joint Controller.

But why would you damage your company reputation with Google Analytics? Please use Matomo https://matomo.org (former Piwik) and be in full control with data ownership and privacy protection.

.. And definitely don’t consider GA and classify as essential cookies …. like a lot of people seem to do …

As i always say to clients… it is not what you as a business think is essential … 🙂
