I have a question about rented properties and the info that can be provided to landlords of current tenants. If the tenant is in debt for a service supplied to the property, can the info on that debt (copy invoices/chase letters) be provided to the landlord?
My opinion is as the tenant is the account holder for the service, it would be a breach of the GDPR to provide debt information to the landlord without the tenants permission.
I would be interested to hear if others agree with me on this?

Think about it that way: What would be the legal basis for the landlord to have access to that information?
My first thought would be that their potential interest in getting that information does not outweigh the tenant’s interest in keeping it separate.
What would the landlord want to have that information for anyway? Their bottom line is solely whether or not they are getting paid rent, right?
