When porcessing Special Category Data I get tied up in knots! Can I clarify my thinking please?

I need a Lawful basis (Article 6)
An exemption (Article 9)
A DPIA

Do I need an APD everytime too please?

      Could you just clarify – are you saying that you only process special category data if you have done all of these three things?
      Also could you define what you mean by APD?
